Meeting Notes: At the latest BVI-AT Community of Practice meeting, held September 23, 2011, updates for hardware purchases for the equipment evaluation/loan program were discussed. It was decided to recommend the Book Port devices and Flipper Stands as items available for permanent loan from the Resource Center: B/VI.  New braille displays have arrived for trial and evaluation, including the Focus 40 Blue Braille Display and the APH Refreshabraille.  The braille displays work well with JAWS and NVDA but not with Window Eyes at this time.  The next AT Meeting is scheduled for Novermber 4 at 12:00 (11:30 lunch at MSAB). Complete meeting notes are available for download at the bottom of this page.

The MATCH evaluation instrument is in revision along with the state AT Manual, with plans to merge these documents.

Our sympathy goes to the family and friends of Rich Gieschen, who passed away on September 25, 2011.  Rich Gieschen was an extraordinary advocate for our students who brought enthusiasm and great expertise to our field.
