Spring 2008 VPM: Amy Dauphinais (Bovin) Membership Chair: Jessica Fraley Ellen Hilton  Grad Student Hamden, CT UCMB, Pep Band ellen.hilton@uconn.edu Big Sister: Jessica Fraley Little Sister: Alyssa Serville Vice President of Membership UCMB Band Captain School: Currently in her tenth semester, Ellen is a Secondary French Education Major in Neag. She is also pursuing a French degree in CLAS as well as learning Spanish in order to be certified to teach in two languages. Ellen began playing flute in the fourth grade and picked up a piccolo the following year. She immediately fell in love with this higher pitched counterpart. Surely the piercing noise is balanced out by the fact that it weighs less than a tuba mouthpiece, even while safely enclosed in its case? Sorority: Ellen went through with the amazing Beta Sigma class in the Spring of 2008. She is a member of the Disney Family! Andrew Landry  Senior + Enfield, CT UCMB, Pep Band, Concert Band Big Sister: Gregory Little Little Sisters: Michael Croweak Alumni Chair UCMB Band Captain School: Andrew is a 9th semester music major. Band: Despite being one of the smaller members, Andy is a rather loud member of the Sousaphone Battalion. He has been part of the section for 4 years as well as a member of the UConn Pep band for the past 4 years. He has been in Symphonic Band for 5 non-consecutive semesters including 1 as principal player and has been a member of the concert band for 4 years. Sorority: Andy went through in the Spring of 08 with the Beta Sigma class and has been actively doing whatever he can to help better bands through the sorority. He has been Vice President of Service and has also recently served as District Parliamentarian. Anthony Pandolfe  Super Senior Middletown, CT UCMB, Pep Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band Big Sister: Brian Sherman UCMB Drum Major School: Anthony is currently majoring in Music Education. His major instrument is the piano, but he played trombone with the UCMB. Anthony has performed in many concerts large and small. He has also accompanied many vocalists, instrumentalists, choirs, and musicals. He continues to serve as an organist for churches in the Middletown and Storrs area. In May of 2007 Anthony won a concerto competition and played at the Bushnell with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. In August 2008, he music directed Footloose the Musical. His repertoire includes that of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, and many others. After college, he plans to become a high school and college band director. Band: Anthony is Drum Major of the "Pride of Connecticut" UCONN Marching Band. Prior to his appointment, he served as trombone section leader for the 2009 season. Anthony is in his 2nd year of Varsity Pep Band. He performs with the University Symphonic band and with other various ensembles throughout the community and at the University of Connecticut. Sorority: Anthony became part of Tau Beta Sigma in the spring of 2008. He is currently the Gamma Kappa Chapter's Music Chairman. His most recent projects include organizing a crew of technicians for the Middletown High School Marching Band as well as directing the 2010 banquet swing band. He is excited to serve bands at the University of Connecticut. |
