Strait Way is a family group consisting of Charles & Jean Gunter, Pam Turner and Wynona Persall.

Charles and Jean have been singing with various groups since 1969.  They are a very dedicated couple - to each other and to doing the work of the Lord.  It is such a blessing to watch how the Lord is working in their lives, and that despite serious health problems they both have faced, they still have a deep desire to keep doing their part for Him.

Pam Turner is their daughter.  She and her husband, David, are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Matt and Jennifer. Pam was raised in gospel music.  Watching her and Charles is a true testament to the love between a father and a daughter and to what you can do when you give your all to the Lord.

Last, but not least, is Wynona Persall.  Wynona is considered the"adopted" daughter.  She takes care of the music, product table and picks up the slack needed.  Her home is shared with two four legged, purring "children".

The Lord has been very good to Strait Way, and when you meet them, you will find that they are very humble about what they are doing and are dedicated to spreading the good news of our Heavenly Father.  Please keep them in your prayers that they would stay in the center of His will.

                           STRAIT TALK 

1 Corinthians 1:10 

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

 

Strait Way would like to let all of our friends know how much we love you and appreciate all the prayers you have prayed for us.  There’s no doubt that we could never go like we do without your love,  prayers and moral support.  The world is filled with those that will call you friend on one hand and not act much like a friend on the other.  It would be very easy to let hurtful words discourage us but you know, that’s as good as the devil would have it.  We refuse to give in to his lies.  That’s when your prayers lift us up and helps us to tell old Satan to get behind us.

 

We as Christians and we as gospel singers have to be on the same page.  The world is watching and listening and if they see us backbiting, gossiping about and being nasty to each other, what message does that send?

 

It’s high time that we all start respecting each other more.  It’s not about where we sing, with whom we sing with, what we drive, what we wear, who we know or how much money we make.  It’s about the one we sing about.  It’s about helping our neighbor, it’s about helping the lost find The Lord, it’s about everything except ourselves.

 

Strait Way may not be the best singing group our there today, but that doesn’t really matter.  We sing for His honor and His glory and as long as He says go, we will go.
