Mark "Guido" Wright
I have loved tattoos since I was a child, when I saw the tattoos that my Uncle Jim acquired while in the Navy. I was very young, but I couldn't wait to get tattooed myself. I was already hooked. I finally got my first "real" tattoo in 1976, in Miami, on the way home from a trip to Key West, FL.....an eagle, and I was addicted!
Well to keep a long story short, one thing lead to another, and I have been tattooing since 1987. In 1996 I went to work at Capitol Tattoo in Silver Spring, MD. After tattooing and eventually managing that shop for 13 years, I decided to get out of the congested city and move out to the country in Frederick County. Then in February of 2009 I opened my own shop, Cheeky Monkey Tattoo, in the Green Valley Shopping Center in quiet Monrovia, MD. The struggling economy and high unemployment rate forced me to close the shop in December 2011.
It has always been my dream to travel this great country of ours, so with the kids grown and successful in their own lives, and me unemployed and itching to see the world, I have embarked on the next chapter in my life....FLAMINGO ROAD TATTOO.
Still based in Maryland, but now taking those lemons and turning them in to lemonade, I will be...... "Traveling the world to do your 'Mom'!"
I really enjoy doing fineline, single needle work and Asian style tattoos, but can offer just about any style of artwork you prefer, including portraits, black & gray, old school, full color, cover-ups, reworks, and one-of-a-kind custom designs. There is nothing more gratifying than sitting down with a customer, talking with them about the design they have in their head, and drawing it up for them, the way they envisioned it. We humans are all unique, and may all see things a bit differently in our minds, but I will work with you until I have interpreted your vision the way your mind envisions it.
So if you are tired of getting attitudes and are ready for a friendly, courteous, professional artist eager to help you in a clean, fun, relaxing atmosphere, then I'm your man. All of my instruments are autoclave sterilized, and I only use single-service needles and inks. If you are interested in a reasonably priced, high quality tattoo applied by a true professional, I invite you to send me an email at flamingotat2@gmail.com to set up an appointment. I look forward to working with you on designing your next tattoo.
