F.A.Q.

Q: What do I need to run it?
A: You need WindowsMobile x.xx OS. You need .NET Compact Framework 3.5. And you need a PocketPC.

Q: How do I install it?
A: Copy the CAB to your ppc, run it, install it. Map it to some button (Settings->Buttons screen).

Q: How do I use it?
A: The program starts automatically on reboot. When you need to switch tasks, press the button you assigned it to. You will see all visible programs, running currently on your ppc (you will not see background processes). Tap a program to switch to it. Double-tap a program to see short info about it.

Q: Does it support d-pad?
A: Yes. Use left, right, up and down keys to navigate through programs, then press the middle button to switch to a particular one.

Q: Can I close running processes using the Facade?
A: Yes. Long-tap programs to mark them for closing. You can change your mind and un-mark some of them by long-tapping once again. Those marked will be closed after you switch to a program you want to work with.

Q: Are there some more options to configure, incl. beautifications?
A: Press the OK button, select Settings.

Q: Can I exclude some programs from appearing?
A: Yes. Double-tap the process you want to bar, in the dialog, press the Bar menu item. Or, in the Settings dialog use the 3rd tab 'Barring'.

Q: How can I close the Facade?
A: Press the OK button in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Close.

Q: NEW When does the Facade make snapshots and does it have impact on battery life and CPU usage
A: The Facade takes snapshots in 3 situations:
1. 1 second after you switch a process;
2. When you call the Facade;
3. Periodically based on the Snapshots Update Rate setting (default is every 5000 ms = 5 seconds). Note that the Facade does not work when your PocketPC is in Sleep Mode.

You can switch periodical snapshots (case 3) off by setting the value to zero. In this case, snapshots will still be taken in cases 1 and 2.

The less you use periodical snapshots the less power you use for the program. On the other hand, I personally did not notice any battery life changes when using the default 5 seconds update.
