This website is a holding place for research into the "third space" of experience that occurs when artists transfer their expertise into education, activism, and  economic development.

I am investigating the impact of the teaching experience on the craft and work of artists. While the elements  of teaching artistry are being mined in an effort to shape policy and best practice, there is still a body of conventional wisdom that considers teaching a compromise to the career artist.

My specific objectives are outlined in the TA Abstract.
