Tarragal Downs House

Located near Cape Bridgewater, 18 kms south west of the town of Portland, Victoria, Tarragal Downs is a place to breathe deeply, relax and enjoy the view. It's great for a large family or two families, with plenty of outdoor space for kids, and a 5 minute drive to Bridgewater Bay (surf/swim beach) and Cafe.

This 1950s-1960s farmhouse has a fully renovated interior with large light-filled living spaces, quality furnishings including curtains in Guatemalan fabrics, timber floors, a massive 1960s stone fireplace, huge well-equipped kitchen, good beds and modern bathrooms. Set in 13 acres on one of the highest hills around, it has sweeping views over farmland and blue gum plantations to Cape Bridgewater and the southern ocean. In the morning, if you look quietly out the window, you will often see a mob of kangaroos grazing near the front windows, as well as flocks of crimson rosellas and tiny fairy wrens.

Rates

Weekly base rate for up to 4 people includes cleaning and linen. Peak holiday periods base rate is $1800 per week, shoulder season is $1,400 and low season is $1,000.

All seasons, extra adults (after 4 people) pay $50/$45/$40 (high, shoulder, low) per night and extra children under 18 years pay only a linen charge per stay /week of $30.

Summer and school holidays weekly bookings have priority. All times, minimum stay 2 nights at nightly rate.

Advance deposit required.

Refundable security bond of $200 payable.

Normal conditions are that you leave the house as you find it, but if you prefer to have a "cleaning-free stay", you can elect to pay $100 per weekend or $150 per week to cover all cleaning up.
