Tourism can bring positive elements to TARP, including resources which are spent on conservation and research. However, tourists and the services which cater to them also put their own pressures on TARP. Local tourism figures are officially aggregated for TARP but I do not have access to them. However, overall visitors to Sabah and their general origins are given in the figure, alongside official projections.
