Our Second House

For spring & summer, I had an upholsterer make custom slipcovers out of cotton twill.

Nesties are always asking about our entertainment center :)  We got it at an a consignment shop, so I have no idea who the manufacturer is.  It originally had a pickled oak finish.  A simple wipe down with a damp rag and a good coat of oil-based paint (better for adherence) was all it needed!  The color is SW Wrought Iron.

The kitchen and dining room are SW Dapper Tan.  It's on the same color card as Macadamia (which is throughout the house - it's a great color!), but it's two shades darker.  It really highlights the cabinets and stone backsplash!

I have to AW my table :)  It's solid mahogany from the American Empire period, which makes this table from ca. 1845.  I bought it at an antique store for $500 and had it refinished for $400.  I told the refinisher to leave some of the character behind, so there's a heat stain from an oval bowl and another stain from an inkwell.  I had it done in a marine varnish that makes this table just as durable as any wood bar top.

Library Before with sellers' paint - RL Khaki.

I love this color!  SW Silvermist is one of those colors that really changes with the light.

Yall know that I love bargain bedding :)  The PB knock-off duvet set is from smartbargains.com - it was $39.  The terracotta color duvet used as a blanket was $20 at TJMaxx.  The sheets are my fave bargains from LNT and were $40 for the 300 TC sateen set.  The khaki pillow is a down-filled, wool-covered Nautica one that was on clearance at TJMaxx for $7!
