October 12th, 2011
Today we finished Chapter 8 section 4, completed the Mass Culture graphic organizer and each student was given the option to draw and color one of the following: Amusement Park, Boxing, Tennis, Baseball. Bicycle, Shopping Mall, Sears Catalog.

Today is a minimum day, all students will turn in their Weekly Work packet for chapter 8 and I will inform students of their final U.S. History grade for the first quarter report cards.

October 6th was the Benchmark test. If you were absent you need to see Mrs. Tarango as soon as possible to make it up.

October 5th
On October 5th all classes played a Jeopardy Game in an effort to review for our Benchmark on Thursday. The game was played for extra credit points.

Wednesday, September 28th
Good morning :-) Today we will begin chapter 8 our last chapter before benchmarks which are next week. Today's lecture and PowerPoint presentation will cover chapter 8 section 1, students will then copy the "Science & Urban Life Chart" from the board.

Monday, September 26th
Good morning,
Today we will finish chapter 7 by reading section three and
completing the corresponding worksheet.
Some classes did not have a chance to copy and complete the charts on
the board from Friday, those classes will be given time today, the classes that
did have the opportunity will have a jump start on our next video.

Friday, September 23rd
On Friday we reviewed Chapter 7 section 2 via a PowerPoint
lecture and class discussion. The
students were given to charts on the board to complete, re-teaching the
information in the lecture: Chart 1
Urbanization Ch.7 section 2 and Chart 2 Identify Urban challenges. Reminder Weekly Work will be due next Tuesday
and the Quiz will be administered.

Thursday, September 22nd
Good morning :-)
Today
students will copy the standard and objective, finish ch. 7 section 1 lecture, answer
the “Immigration Patterns” questions on the board, complete the Ellis Island v.
Angel Island chart, continue drawing their immigration analogy picture and if
time permits we will watch a short video leading into urbanization.
Standard:
11.2
Students analyze the relationship among the rise of industrialization, large-scale
rural-to-urban migration, and massive immigration from Southern and Eastern
Europe.
Objectives:

how immigration in the late 19th and early 20th century

Wednesday September 21st
In order to stay on point with the district pacing guide and to cover all of the required standards and correlating chapters before the benchmark we will begin Ch. 7 today, please get a new Note Taking Guide for this chapter. Today we will review chapter 7 sec. 1 with a powerpoint presentation, lecture and questions. You will complete two coresponding board assignments (U.S. Immigration Patterns 1900s and Ellis Island v. Angle Island) You are also required to draw a picture of one of the three immigration analogies i.e. melting pot, stew, salad bowl. Your chapter 7 quiz will be on Monday and your weekly work including your ch. 7 vocab will also be due that day.
