Welcome!

Welcome

...to Tapped Earth Farm! Thank you for checking out our site and feel free to learn more about us by clicking the tabs at the top of the page.

We were fortunate to lay our roots on a south-facing slope in the rich floodplain of Fall Creek in Tompkins County, NY, adjacent to the Homer C. Thompson vegetable research farm (Cornell University) and the Jerry Dell Farm/Ithaca Organics. We built (with loads of help) the "Freeville Earthship" and are homesteading the property by utilizing natural cycles and permaculture principles in our farm design.

Our approach combines the common-sense fundamentals of early-American farms with modern science and the visionary work of small-scale farmers like Joel Salatin and the innovative community within the permaculture movement.

2020 marks our first season of growing food for the public. At times we barely know what we're doing, but usually, that's the best way to learn and improve. Thanks for visiting and supporting our endeavor. You can also "like" us on Facebook for the most up-to-date photos and information.
