About Me
Tao Lu (芦涛)
I am an associate professor at the Operations and Information Management Department, School of Business, University of Connecticut (UConn). Prior to joining UConn, I was a faculty at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University where I taught executive-level and graduate courses. I obtained my Ph.D. degree at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I also hold an M.Phil. degree and a Bachelor degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Beijing Jiaotong University, respectively. In addition, I held visiting appointments at various universities, such as Dartmouth College, Eindhoven University of Technology, National University of Singapore, and Singapore Management University.
My research interests include supply chain management, transport logistics, gig economy platforms, and socially responsible operations. My research has been published (or forthcoming) in top-tier academic journals such as Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, and Transportation Science. I am currently serving as an Associate Editor of the Service Science journal. Additionally, I am a recipient of the Management Science Distinguished Service Award (2024).
