Skittles Evening Friday November 20th, 7pm at The Royal British Legion Club

We should get 2 or 3 Games of skittles during the evening plus a buffet and a raffle, all for the princely sum of £5!

 Turkey & Tinsel - Nov 2010 on the Isle of Wight

The event will take place from 22nd to 26th Nov 2010 - on the Isle of Wight at the Melbourne-Ardenlea Hotel.

The hotel has only 50 rooms & there is a limited space for singles, and we could easily fill it so book early to avoid disappointment.

The cost is £150:00 pp approx, so please contact Diana for further details.

The accommodation is for 5 days / 4nights, includes Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and Evening Entertainment, Games Day; and a Walk.

Optional Extras :-  10 Pin bowling; Day trip to a place of local interest.

Transport is extra and will be made available as soon as we have the information.

 December 2nd Meeting.

This year with so few members going to the Turkey & Tinsel event, we thought we might hold a meet on the 2nd of December, venue to be decided.

If you are interested in what would be a social meet, please let your committee know ASAP. Once we have numbers we can investigate what is available to us as regards venues.

 The Annual Christmas Lunch, 16th December 2009

The Christmas Lunch will take place at 1pm on December 16th at The Appleby Inn, Appleby Parva, on the A444,  ½ mile from J11 of M42.

Again following comments after last year's meal, this year's venue has been changed and we hope it all goes well!

 Bowl 'n Bite - 23rd December 2009?

Following on from the morning bowls, we will as usual retire to a side room for the lunch.
Bite Package: includes Hot Basket Meal all served with chips and followed by a Mince Pie and coffee or tea.
Christmas Bite Menu - £6 per Person, Bowling extra

At the next meeting we will take bookings along with your £6 payment.  Book early to avoid disappointment!!

 Catering

A rota has been set up as no doubt people are aware, but we are reviewing the arrangements for people taking home and bringing back the tea, coffee, etc., and intend to have a lockable storage facility that we can leave at The Phil Dix Centre in order to make the whole procedure more painless.  This also has the advantage that if someone can't make it who has the "pack" then at least someone else can step in to cover.

We'll keep you posted on this one as it progresses.

 Lakeland Festival, January 11th to 15th, 2010

This will be at The Craig Manor Hotel, Lake Rd, Bowness on Windermere.   Bed, Breakfast and Dinner is £212 for 4 nights. We promise you, as usual, a great time with friendly companions and a fine programme of activities including crafts, watercolour painting, computers, digital photography, walking and music.
