10 Pin Bowling

Introduction

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Strykers Bowling in Tamworth, at 10:15am for a 10:30am start.  If people can get there before then all the better as it then becomes less of a rush and helps us to get organised on time.

Bowling lasts for approx 1h 30m as the norm, and it becomes somewhat a social occasion as we usually have a lunch arranged at a local hostelry.  After all, we're a "Friendship Group".

By becoming a member of Tamworth Friendship Centre, you will benefit from becoming a member of Strykers Bowling which entitles you to a reduction in the costs of games.

Charges for the 2009 season are £4.50 per session, once you join the club, and we get a discount of 10% on beverages in the Wimpy bar, when it's open during the school holiday!

The new League season commences in September and we need to collect the names of persons interested in playing in the coming season. I would ask that you consider this carefully because you will need to commit to playing on a regular basis - one day a month! If you feel you can't commit to this you might like to register as a reserve.

Team and individual scores are also shown on Team results page.

News & Reports

Midlands 10Pin Bowling Tournament Sept 30th 2009,  held at Strykers

From this year this tournament has moved to Tamworth from Nuneaton, and we had 4 teams from across the area partaking, namely Hinckley & Burbage, Kenilworth, Lichfield and Tamworth.

We bowled off at around 11:30am following refreshments and had the usual 2 games.

The event was organized and run by Diana with help from Richard and Alan and went quite well.  All those I spoke to from the various teams said they'd enjoyed the day, which was what it was all about really, having a fun time whilst bowling.

As it was, Tamworth came third overall with Barbara being the 2nd highest Lady on the day.  As usual, it seems nerves got the better of some of our players, as they didn't perform as well as we know they can, but all the same they enjoyed the day too!

The overall scores are available in pdf format - click here.

National League Results and Standings

The new season has now begun and as the tables are posted they will appear here.

Sandra Boswell of Hinckley & Burbage has taken over the running of the league from Ray Breward and we wish her all the best in this role.
At this moment in time, Sandra has not been able to produce any tables, etc., due to personal circumstances but hopefully we'll be back to normal very shortly.
