Tamiko Beyer divides her time between Brooklyn and St. Louis, where she is pursuing an M.F.A. at Washington University in St. Louis. Her poetry has appeared in diode, Copper Nickel, The Progressive, Gay and Lesbian Review and other publications. She is a Kundiman Fellow and a founding member of Agent 409: a queer, multi-racial writing workshop in New York city. She leads creative writing workshops for homeless LGBT youth, children from low-income families, and other communities. She has been awarded a grant from the Astraea Lesbian Writers Fund, a Chancellor’s Fellowship and Olin Fellowship from Washington University in St. Louis, and residencies at Hedgebrook, Soul Mountain Retreat, and Casa Libre en la Solana.
