Since I came to live in the Tamar Valley in April 2007, I've noticed a number of services and products missing that I had taken for granted in Auckland. That is to be expected moving from a city to a rural area, but I've decided that at least some of those services I could provide myself, so here they are:
Computer Support Services
Computer support was not easy to find, when I first came to the Tamar Valley. With my own computer background, I was only really looking for parts, but I found prices were very high, and after-sales service was, shall we say, not up to scratch. Many of the people I've talked to had pretty much given up on having a useable computer, because they had so much trouble getting help when something went wrong. Supply Chain Management
When I was studying this in the NZ Army Ordnance, it was referred to as warehousing. When I left the army, however, I found that the world of suits and briefcases seemed to need grander names for parts of a business that involved so much money. Neways
Neways is a company specialising in personal, homecare, and healthcare products with no toxins or carcinogens. These products are distributed much the same as Tuppaware, but it would seem that distributors in Tasmania are few and far between, so I have signed up as a distributor myself.
