Get Involved
In addition to volunteering to lead a program you can get involved in many other ways. You can volunteer to be a program host by helping to set-up, manage check-in, and reset tables and chairs at one or more of the programs. (hosts will not be charged on the night they volunteer). You can help to distribute schedules on the first of the month to area businesses or consider helping by finding benefactors who would like to become financial supporters of our Community Center.
One of the most important roles you can offer is that of a promoter of Talk of the Neighborhood. Consider the programs that you might enlist friends or family to lead or attend. Do you know someone who would be willing to volunteer their expertise, promote their business, share their research, perform music, share their art, show and sell their crafts?
Finally, share your ideas with the organizers. Allow yourself to dream of your idea of an ideal community center. What could we work toward for future expansion of the activities associated with this program? Consider the possibilities for outdoor activities in the summer, organizing independent groups for field trips, travel groups, performances. Help make this a vibrant community center.
