A colorful, rhythmic video
guides a group of second graders through a workout routine. High school students in
Indiana explore a museum in New York…without leaving Indiana. Elementary students
search for magazine articles about tornadoes that fit their individual Lexile
reading levels. Classmates are able to
combine reputable information resources on heart health issues and make them
available to the whole school. These activities are all products of technology; namely, the Internet. You may think the Internet and young students do not mix well. What about cyber bullying? Online predators? Scams? Websites run by subversive groups? The Internet holds many very real concerns that should never be ignored, but the benefits of technology should not be ignored, either.
