Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great break and is ready to get back to work at school. We will be working hard and settling right back in to the routine.
As for the classroom, here are a few of the topics we will be covering.
Math - We will focus our attention on multiplication and knowing the basic facts. Please make sure your child studies the facts each night. We will also continue to assess on the addition and subtraction skills to make sure those are not lost in the process.
Reading - We will work on a theme of "Celebrating Traditions" in the reading book. Included in the study are skills such as inferring, drawing conclusions, asking questions and summarizing.
Science - We will continue to use the steps of the scientific method to conduct investigations into the study of rocks and minerals. Our inquiry questions will guide our study. There will be several hands-on activities.
Writing - We are currently working on Young Authors - yes, it's that time of year again.
