 Resume

This is an on going project I just started at the end of the summer of 2008. I was approached by a friend to create a "Inventory Manager" that not only interfaced with his current Access database but also fix the current program that they are using. The current program was built by another programmer who just happened to disappear month before finishing their program and with the source code as well.

I couldn't promise them much because I had only worked with project in school and a few side project for my own personal benefit. He understood that but asked me to try my best. Little did I know, this project would end up taking most of my weekends and capture all of my attention. I went out and bought a whiteboard to compose my ideas, numerous books on MySQL, C#, and a few programming books as well.

Right now, it is still in its development stages.  I'm using C# and Visual Studios 2005 to develop the front end. I ended up extracting the access database and converting it to a MySQL database. We then striped out all the table we didn't need and started building from there.

Currently, the database is done being rebuilt. I'm now working on creating the user interface so that the user can easily add, delete, view and edit entries in the database. The next phase of the project is to create reports with the data in the database and to also integrate a barcode reader with the user interface as well. This lays the ground work for a POS (point of sale) system that will be implemented through the store. The final phase is to create a eCommerce website so that the chosen items can be sold on the internet as well as in the store.

Sorry there are no pictures to display at this point but as soon as the the user interface is done, there will be some sample pictures up.
