Our Purpose

To promote and support the maritime interest and commerce in the Puget Sound Region.

To support existing business and related services, including the American Merchant Marine and the Port of Tacoma.
 
To foster understanding and cooperation in the public and private sectors with regard to maritime issues.
 
To support the objectives and program of The Propeller Club of the United States.
 
To maintain support of student education through scholarship funding.

Awards

Each year the Tacoma Propeller Club sponsors several awards, recognizing individuals in the maritime industry for exemplary service.  Awards are presented each May at the Maritime Day Luncheon.
 
Master Mariner
This honor is awarded annually to a person who has been of outstanding service to the maritime community, the community in general, and/or the Propeller Club.  Propeller Club membership is not a requirement, but should be considered.
 
Scott Mason receives 2011 Master Mariner Award

The Tacoma Propeller Club awarded Scott Mason, President of ILWU Local 23, with the Master Mariner Award at its Maritime Day Luncheon on May 18, 2011. “This award recognizes Scott for his continued and strong support of our overall maritime industry,” said Rockney Nigretto, Past International President of the Propeller Club of the United States, “and for his leadership in our community, in Washington State, and in the international arena.”
