Tacoma Catholic Worker

Guadalupe House of Hospitality

At Guadalupe House, we provide clean and sober  transitional housing for single adults on an interview and invitation basis.  We also offer a place where people in need can come take a shower, use the phone, and pick up mail on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  We are committed to serving the immediate needs of our neighborhood and city, creating a welcoming place for everyone, and working toward a more just community.

We are here to walk with our guests toward stabilized lives and to advocate for social justice and peace.  We have a thriving organic garden that helps feed our house and neighborhood, and we are active many coalitions that bring us toward a more just community. Among our staff members, guests and extended family, are artists, cooks, puppet makers, carpenters, community organizers, ministers, and aspiring roller derbyers.   It takes all these gifts and many more for a community to thrive.  Please come and visit some Tuesday (see weekly liturgy).

The Guadalupe Gala is coming soon! May 21st at Holy Cross Church.

Come and join us for good food, music and our annual auction.  If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us at 253-572-4247.  No tickets necessary, donation at the door.

Our Community Needs  Include:

  1. Coffee! There is nothing appreciated like a hot cup of coffee.  We go through a lot of it.
  2. A Strong Working Lawnmower, and if there is also a person who wants to volunteer to mow now and then, so much the better.

Special Thanks To...

Work Parties

Our buildings are older, well loved and need lots of care. We are always looking for extra hands to work with us on regular maintenance.  We have work parties the first Saturday of each month, please call us if you are interested in helping out.

Shopping Club

A few people are regularly checking in to see what supplies we need.  Could you help us keep basic household & shower supplies in stock?  The more members we add to this club, the easier it will be to give out lists of stock items that will fit a donor's budget.  Call our office:  (253) 572-4247.
