Synapse is a full time private practice specialising in the psychological treatment of trauma and a range of other adult and child conditions that are likely to respond well to innovative interventions.

The latest and best treatments can sometimes resolve the symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and intense phobias (e.g. travel, dental, animal) in a matter of hours with skilled assistance.
Routine appointments are between one and two hours available by referral from your doctor or by personal appointment.

Synapse has developed executive coaching weekends for individuals to remove creative blocks to allow your creativity to flow. Over a period of 2, 3 or 4 days, issues can be processed and a new future realised.
Four hours per day of intense work allows you some time for reflection in a beautiful locality with a hotel, rail services and shopping facilities in walking distance. These sessions are tailored to your need and competitively priced.

Synapse is committed to obtaining the quickest, safest, most eithical and most comfortable resolution to every problem or concern.

Many conditions are readily treated, including the effects of serious trauma after experiencing earthquake, tsunami, other disasters, rape and near-death experiences.
Treatments are effective for a vst range of conditons including chronic pain, panic, depression, self-harm, bereavement, psychosomatic conditions, habit change.
Phobias are treated quickly and many kinds of behaviour change and anger management and adjustment to medical conditions are routinely assisted.

A specialised treatment is available for all kinds of trauma using EMDR, now the treatment of choice for P.T.S.D. and is one of only two treatements recommended by
The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines (NICE). The effects of trauma are vastly under-recognised.

Many symptoms such as sleep difficulty, loss of concentration or memory, irritability and over-reactivity, severe anxiety, hyper-alertness or jumpiness and resultant depression can be caused by trauma. Trauma can also be experienced by emergency service workers who are used to everyday trauma. Trauma is often experienced after accidents, disasters and events encountered by the military services, everyday life-trauma such as abuse, assault or rape, hospital procedures, encounters with bullies in a variety of settings. Bullies might act quietly and 'officially' to control others and they can seriously affect strong adults and children.

** A study (in 2005) in the British Journal of Psychiatry demonstrated that many people suffered the symptoms of PTSD without having suffered a major trauma.
