All students grades K-5 are welcome to enter a Display Project at the SCES science fair.
Students grades 3-5 have the option to enter a Compete Project in the Science Fair.
Introduction
We are looking forward to another fun and exciting Science Fair this year. It's great to see how smart and creative our Crocs are! This is an opportunity for the students to mix the scientific method with math, reading and writing skills together in one project. It also teaches them how to organize and work within a timeline - and have fun all at the same time. What a great way to teach these lifelong skills!
A Science Fair Project can seem intimidating but keep reading and we will walk you through the process. Remember - keep the project at your child's grade level. Most elementary school projects are not rocket science (though they can be) but they are simple experiments that the children themselves can perform. It all starts with a simple question. Which leads us to the Scientific Method...
Components of a Science Fair Project
Your Science Fair project should include a display board and an age appropriate research paper.

SCES Rules
As with all projects there are rules and regulations that you must follow. Please click on the Safety Rules on the left. Most are self explanatory. If you are considering submitting your project for competition click here.
Parental Involvement
We encourage parents to get involved by guiding and helping your child in ways that will allow the student room for his/her own initiative and creativity to flow. Guide your child whenever and wherever you can, but let the final project reflect your child's individual effort and design.

Now You're Ready
Now you're ready to get started working on your own project. We have given you a lot of examples but there is so much more information out there. We have a supplement packet for those students grade 3 - 5 who wish to compete.
