Behavior Management Plan

Class Rules and Expectations

1.       Be prepared – please dress appropriately.  Tennis shoes and athletic attire.

2.      Be a good listener – eyes are on the instructor and students are silent during instruction and demonstrations.

3.      Give your best effort – even when skills are unfamiliar and challenging, hard work and focus are essential.

4.      Respect others and equipment – students should treat others as they wish to be treated and care for equipment as if it was their own.

5.      Have a good attitude – always choose to do and say things that make a situation better.  Even when frustrated, students should keep a positive attitude.

Class Incentive

THE GOLDEN TENNIS SHOE – This shoe will be presented to the class of the week and will represent that they did an outstanding job in Physical Education class.  They followed all rules and safety procedures, as well as, had 100% of students wearing appropriate athletic wear.  This class worked well together and got the most out of their 45 minute class.  The shoe will be placed on the door knob on Monday morning, for everyone to see, and will remain until Friday afternoon when a representative will return the shoe to Mr. Miller.

Student Management

Students are expected to follow class rules and safety procedures during all activities.  I have implemented a 3 strikes and you’re out! Policy.  A student will receive 2 verbal warnings for inappropriate behavior and upon the 3rd violation, the student will be asked to sit out of the activity for 5 minutes.  If the problem persists after time out, the student will be removed from the activity for the remainder of the class period.  In the event that the negative behavior is of a violent or unsafe nature, I reserve the right to remove the student from the activity immediately.
