CD Format launched.

goodbye cassettes......

Many of our listeners asked when we were going to start producing the Talking Magazine as a CD so that they can enjoy the better quality of sound that this format offers.
After months of trials with volunteer listeners we launched our new CD service for the Talking Magazine in March 2010. The Talking Newspaper on CD followed in September 2010..
We acheived our target of producing both our publications on CD by the end of 2010. All our listeners now receive the Talking Magazine and Newspaper in the CD format. Cassette copies have ceased . Despite the large extra cost involved we are determined to continue providing both publications as a free service.
The response from listeners is very positive. They all mention the extra clarity that digital recordings provide and the ease of navigating through the items using the numbered tracks. Not having to return the CD disc is a bonus that many listeners consider a definite advantage. They can listen at their leisure, play it again and maybe keep it for a friend or relative to hear.
