Who We Are

Friends of Southwest Branch Library (SWT Friends) is a neighborhood chapter of the Friends of the Seattle Public Library. We support the Southwest Branch (SWT) of the Seattle Public Library (SPL) in West Seattle.

Some examples of things we do: We sell used books at our kiosk at the Southwest Branch. We sponsor events at the Southwest Branch. We advocate for the Seattle Public Library at community meetings. See our News and Calendar pages.

Join Us!

It's fun! We're all just friendly neighbors. We welcome members of all backgrounds and all ages - children, teens, and adults.

All meetings are open to everyone, members and non-members. At the meetings we plan for things we can do to help the Southwest Branch or the Seattle Public Library. At the meetings, we also talk about the books we've read. If you don't want to talk, just come and listen.

Members will receive occasional emails about upcoming events. There are no membership fees. To become a member of the Friends of Southwest Branch Library, simply give us your name and email. There are several ways to do it: email us or call us (see contacts below) or fill out a membership slip at our kiosk at the Southwest Branch and drop it in the box.

Members who want to be even more actively involved should see info for active members.
