On Saturday, February 7th at 9am, Andrew Paul Fredel will be leading a workshop on psalms at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Lemont. This educational session will explore the practical elements and aesthetic of sung psalmody. The session is intended to connect with those who are 'digging in' for the first time to this treasury of our sacred music heritage, but also as some helpful review for those who've experienced or studied these areas previously. Andrew Paul Fredel is Music Director at St. Peter's Church -in-the-Loop in downtown Chicago. He hold the Choir Master Certificate (ChM) from the Guild, and is particularly interested in and has studied the many ways psalms are sung in worship. He was invited to present a similar presentation at the AGO National Convention here in Chicago in 2006.
