Last weekend was the last race of the season of this championship. We went to the lovely track of MRCL next to the airport of Bierset. On saturday -practise day- it was beautifull weather, 30 degrees and more. Everybody was trying hard to look up at the best setup. But on sunday it was raining cats and dogs and it was not looking good for the rest of the day. The Efra guys were still fast on the slippery track with all the water. Thomas Stockman want to win a race this year and this was his last chance. Thomas was speeding hard and took the pole in front of Nick Joosens and suprising Jonathan Prouvosq as third. Rico Claeys took fourth in front of Manuel Henriet. For the finals the clouds were gone and a little sunshine came through. Thomas Stockman took a splendid start and was gone. A battle for second place was between four drivers. Nick Joosens, Jonathan Prouvosq, Manuel Henriet and Olivier Bultynck were changing all the time from place. With the track still a little wet was it slippery in the corners. Jonathan was fighting like a lion for his second place but Manuel and Olivier were pushing hard. Also Nick was close. Manuel overtook Jonathan and Olivier took the other side to take third place. Jonathan was now fourth and saw his friend Nick coming. But Jonathan managed to stay in front of Nick. For Thomas was the only goal in the second final first place. Thomas went away from the start but Nick and Manuel tried to follow. But Thomas was really the best on this track and took the win. Manuel overtook Nick and Rico came in as fourth. Thomas didn't start in the third final and so was Nick on first place. A mega crash in the corner before the straight and Olivier who started from ninth was now in second place. Olivier did everything to come near to Nick but Nick wanted this win. So Nick came in as first in front of Olivier and Nicolas Delise as happy third. Final Result: Thomas Stockman (Xray) overall winner, Nick Joosens (Yokomo) second and Manuel Henriet (Schumacher) third place. The Superstock class is this year very open and everyone could win. Werner Broeckx want to be the champ this year and took the TQ. Kristof Dewitte was the second on the grid with Dominique Morsa a happy third. Pasquinel Neys and Christophe Couckhuyt were fourth and fifth. In the first final we saw some changes in the lead. Werner did everything to stay in the lead but Stefan Rommens who was eight on the grid was on a mission. Stefan overtook everyone and also Werner and took the win. Werner came in as second and Nick Logie took third place. Werner was a little dissapointed and took a splendid start and went away. The rest was fighting for second place. And again Stefan came from behind and overtook allmost everyone. Werner took the win and Stefan second place. It was again Nick Logie who was third in front of Stephane Roufosse. The third final would be the decider and Werner want to win this one to secure his championship. And so it was, Werner went away and took the win. Stephane Roufosse was this time second and Nick Logie took third place. Final results: Werner Broeckx (Xray) overall winner, Stefan Rommens (Corally) second and Nick Logie (Xray) third place. In the Stock class it was youngster Athan Dewitte who was the fastest man in the qualifications. Athan, nine years old, was TQ. A great performance from this young driver who prouved that he could be the man for the future. Stijn Lievens took second spot and Michel Mahieu was third. Krist Bultynck and Rony Claeys were fourth and fifth. In the first final was Athan unstoppable. Athan took the lead and no-one seems to able to stop him. But Maxim Naegels, the new champion, came from seventh place on the grid and tried to beat Athan. Athan made a mistake at the end of the final and Maxim came back but Athan manage it and took the win. A great day for this young boy and also the only one who beat Maxim this year. Maxim took second place and Michel Mahieu third place. In the second final had Athan some bad luck and stopped after two laps. Meanwhile was Maxim again the best on the track. Maxim overtook everyone and went away with the victory. Michel Mahieu did everything but could only be happy with second place and Danny Naegels came in as third. In the third final Athan did his best but Maxim and Michel were to strong and overtook the youngster. Michel took the lead and Maxim was following. Michel had some troubles with slower drivers and Maxim was gone. Meanwhile was Danny Naegels third. Final Results: Maxim Naegels (Xray) overall winner, Michel Mahieu (Xray) second place and Danny Naegels (Yokomo) third place. Athan was fourth and did a marvellous job today. |
