May 11

-Teachers, please return all books and videos to the library as soon as you are finished with them for the year. Also, return any equipment you will not be locking up in your room for the summer.

-Congratulations to Samuel Hawkins, who set a school record in the 1600m (1 mile) run in a time of 4:47. He also qualified in 2 events for the sectional meet to be held next Tuesday in Chattanooga.

-In appreciation of the Fan Support in our 3-2 semi-final win over McMinn Central, the Boys' soccer team will sponsor a pep bus to Boyd-Buchanan on Thursday night if there are enough students to sign up. The cost for riding the bus will be $3 plus cost of admission tickets. Sign ups will be today and tomorrow during lunch.

- Congratulations to the Sweetwater FFA for their success at the Tennessee FFA Convention last week. The Parliamentary procedure team placed 5^th in the State, team members were Jessie Campbell, Leslie Stevens, Dillon Miller, Dakota McCann, Jonathan Rodgers, and Roman Day. Jonathan Rodgers, Jesse Campbell placed 1^st in the job interview, 1^st in the Agriscience Plant Systems proficiency, and was elected the 2012-2013 Tennessee Association East Tennessee Vice-President. Once again, congratulations to all of these students.

-Attention all FFA Members, tomorrow is the last day to turn in money for the National Cattlemen's trip.

-We will be selling student tickets ($5.00 each) for our basketball homecoming game during lunch on Friday.

-This week is homecoming week. Dress up days are as follows: Tuesday - Redneck Day, Wednesday - Tacky Day, Thursday - Monster Day (dress like a zombie, vampire or any other monster), Friday - Blue & Gold Day. Be sure to dress up and earn your class points!

-Last chance to join the Beta Club this year! If you are a Junior or Senior with a 90 or above cumulative average, see Ms. Shadden for an application and turn it back in to her by Friday, Jan. 20th. This is your last chance - no exceptions!

January 13

-There will be a canned food drive to benefit SAMS as part of homecoming competition. Needed items will count for 2 points: peanut butter, canned fruit, canned meat (specifically tuna), canned soup, and macaroni & cheese. Other items will count for 1 point per class. Mark with your class and turn in to Mrs. Roy (freshmen turn in to Mrs. King) by Friday, January 20.

-Be sure to visit the Book Fair - January 9-13.

In conjunction with the book fair, we are having "One for Books" drive to raise money for classroom libraries. Please make donations in the library or during lunch. Upon reaching $2000.00 goal (sales and donations combined), we will have a Seminar Celebration Teacher Talent Show featuring a surprise headlining act!

-There will be a meeting after school today at 2:50 in Mrs. Cleveland's room for all students going on the Europe Trip.

-The registration deadline for the February ACT Assessment is this Friday, January 13th. Registration information is available in the Guidance & Counseling Dept.

-Ms. Manning's tutoring is cancelled this afternoon.

January 6

-There will be a very brief Cross Country meeting in Mrs. Roy's room at 2:50 this afternoon.

-There will be an Open House on Monday, January 9th, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. We will have an open forum regarding synthetic drugs and their impact. Teachers will be available in their rooms to discuss grades.

-There will be a mandatory Boys' Soccer team meeting on Monday after school on the soccer field.

-Any FBLA member who wants to compete at Regionals needs to see Ms. Womack this today.

-Get ready to purchase your favorite book from the Bookfair next week! Previews will be Monday for students - with sales beginning Monday night during Open House. Students may also purchase Tues.-Fri. during English classes!
