Sweet Pea CSA is an all-volunteer organization, which means that all members are expected to volunteer their time at distributions to ensure that the CSA can operate. Volunteering entails working at the pick-up location once during the season for about two hours. Tasks including setting up the site, staffing the check-in desk, restocking the produce, cleaning up and bringing the leftovers to our food donation site. If you're not able to volunteering during regular distribution hours, there are many other ways to fulfill this important requirement. Just be in touch with the volunteer coordinator to explore the options. Please carefully follow the instructions below to sign up for your volunteer shifts:
Changing your shift Although it is important that all CSA members make every effort to volunteering during the shifts for which they signed up, sometimes things come up and you may need to change your shift. Please know that the CSA relies on all members to volunteer to ensure that distributions can occur, so please keep this in mind and use your best judgment when changing your shift. It is difficult for the CSA to function if members do not take the volunteer commitment seriously. You can visit the Sweet Pea CSA Google Group to send a message to all members requesting a shift swap. If you're not able to find a swap, please be sure to contact the volunteer coordinator to let her know that you won't be able to make it. |
