Sweet Pea CSA, located in Brooklyn Heights, is a community of individuals committed to sharing the benefits and risks of local farming, and enjoying fresh, organic fruit, vegetables and other produce at a great value in return. In the spring, CSA members buy a "share" of the farm's produce. In return, members receive the benefits of the farm's bounty throughout the growing season, as well as the satisfaction gained from supporting local farmers, participating directly in food production on farm visits and helping build a more local and equitable agricultural system.

Sweet Pea CSA partners with two farms: Garden of Eve Farm in Riverhead, NY on the east end of Long Island and High Point Farms in Ithaca NY.  Your commitment to a local farm, as a CSA member, allows growers like Garden of Eve and High Point Farms to maintain productive and profitable small farms and ensures the survival  of local agriculture today and for future generations.  The CSA also provides educational opportunities and events for members to learn more about working towards a just and sustainable food system in the New York City region.

CSA members receive weekly distributions of fresh, organic, local vegetables.  Members can also choose to purchase a fruit share, an egg share, a flower share, a meat share or a cheese share!  A vegetable typical share includes 7-8 items per week, with more in the summer and autumn than in the spring.

Sweet Pea CSA is an all-volunteer organization, which means that all members are expected to volunteer their time at distributions to ensure that the CSA can operate.  Please visit the Join the CSA page for more information about this important requirement.
