Dear Friends & Colleagues, A team of 6 of us – Dhaval, Deepa, Tarika, Tejal, Vivek and myself – are participating in the Mumbai Marathon, next Sunday. We’re running for Maharashtra Dyslexia Association (MDA). Maharashtra Dyslexia Association (MDA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to securing the rights of students with dyslexia, also known as a ‘Specific Learning or Language Disability’, to an appropriate education. MDA aims to provide a better understanding of this common, but often misunderstood condition and provide appropriate remedial assistance, thus working towards the acceptance of the special needs of children with learning disability and enabling them to reach their full potential. We are really concerned about reaching that finish line 7 kms away, we are pretty confident of reaching our fundraising target of Rs. 36,000 collectively (a roundup of Rs. 100 for every 100 mts) i.e. Rs. 6,000 each. We’ve got a week left and Rs.33,000 yet to go. So please do help us get there. The link is: http://www.unitedwaymumbai.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=146&popup=1&template_id=353 Even a small donation will be able to create a huge difference. Start donating and experience the joy of giving for a cause. You can donate by credit card/debit card or net banking. In case you cannot make donations by internet mechanisms, you can walk into icici bank and deposit money into my bank account number and inform me. I will donate on your behalf (Please call me or message me @8983253878/9930966589 or email me if you want to do so). The same will be updated to you. I thank you for being with me to create a difference. Swapnil & relay team |

I attended Tata Jagriti Yatra ( www.jagritiyatra.com) from 24th Dec 2009 to 11th of Jan 2010. We went all across India visiting different Individuals, NGOs, Social Enterprises and Business enterprises who were our role models. TJY is an annual train journey which takes about 400 young people from India with a message of enterprise led development. It was an amazing experience and has left me with millions of memories. This yatra gave me an opportunity to witness India, meet different individuals and understand what else is going on in other part of the country. I insist my friends to join the yatra next year. |

I finsihed a draft report on status of De-notified Tribes in Tuljapur district. The De-notified Tribes are those who were notified as criminals in India and later de-notified. The final report will come by the end of this month. The experience of working with the De-notified Tribes was amazing and added a lot to the learnings. |

Hello Friends,
I am glad to inform you that I have travelled almost the entire block of Tuljapur in Osmanabad District to identify the community habitats of kaikadi, Wagahari, Banjara (laman), Pardhi and Wadar tribes. Almost 120 villages so far. Valuable experience and the surprises...!!! These visits have been extremely helpful to identify the sociological and economic transformations that these communities have undergone.
Hoping to write more on this very soon....
