The internet and the web have evolved rapidly, changing the way people work, study, communicate. Much more powerful functionality can be delivered by the web when 'reasoning capabilities' are going to be supported by underlying 'intelligent' technologies. Nobody can really tell what shape the 'semantic web' will take, and what technologies will support it in the long term, however research points out that 'usability' should be considered earlier in the technology development lifecycle, and this also applies to semantic technologies
