SEATTLE SWAGGER
Introducing  Seattle's new hotness - SWAGGER.  With a vision of gold, this mixed elite Ultimate team from the Northwest is going to have a helluva journey!

  • Don't need more mana
A month has gone by and we've really come together as a team.

The Portland debut of Seattle Swagger had us pitted against 4 teams on the first day of Kleinman.  We played hard, learning things about one another, finding out that hammers may be something we'll often see, and came out 4-0.

After things calmed down in the evening (probably around 1am) and we headed back out on Sunday, we struggled to get back to a level of play we're all aware we're capable of.  This led down a losing road where we were taken to Ultimate point in a couple games and couldn't capitalize.  Overall record : 4-2.

Two weeks of hard training and game-tweaking passed and ECC was upon us.  We bested Mischief, Funk, Psychoplastique and LA Metro, but the East Coast teams (D5 and Slow White) got into our heads which led to a couple more losses.  All the games were full of highlight reel exploits and the likes of Tucker and Amanda were able to grace us with some excellent play!

Now we're sitting at the brink of the Fall Series.  +10 to agility, +14 to endurance, +7 to game-play, +2 to tactics; our cards are played and we're taking on all comers!

  • Walk with a Swagger
That's right, we're back to it!

Regular schedule starts this week with Tuesday and Saturday practices and Training Thursdays.

Kleinman is coming up and we'll be getting more information from our travel czar (Jackie) very soon.  In the mean time, give her some money!

ECC is after that and we're really looking forward to putting some solid victories on the score sheet.  Train harder, play harder-est!

  • World Cup Modification
Since there are some major soccer fans out there and USA is playing in our first World Cup 2010 match on Saturday at 11:30 am, we're making a slight modification to the practice on Saturday:

Considering we have the fields at 10, it's unlikely that anyone will be there before us so let's everyone show up at 9:30.  If we work hard, play hard, and leave it all on the field (this is the last tryout), we should all feel good about heading to a local pub to root on our boys as they take it to England!

So, again, here's the change -

    Saturday, 6/12 . 9:30 am - pre-12 . Magnuson 6 (turf)

See you out there!  Go Red White and Blue!

A couple emails have been shot around, so I just want to ensure people that the following is the schedule:

    Tuesday, June 01 - 8:30-10:30pm - Hamlin Park 6 (grass)
    Saturday, June 05 - 10am-12pm - Magnuson Park 7 (turf)
    Tuesday, June 08 - 8:30-10:30pm - Hamlin Park 6 (grass)
    Saturday, June 12 - 10am-12pm - Magnuson Park 6 (turf)
    Monday, June 14 - 8-10pm - Bobby Morris (turf)

Bring your light, your dark, a snug pair of cleats, and 15 dollars (if you haven't already).  Thanks!

Also - if you forget what the workout is or you accidentally delete it, they'll be posted on the Workouts page.

  • Capitol Play!
We're headed down to Lacey! (which is close to Olympia)

Playing against Dogfight should be a great time.  They were pretty strong last year and I can only imagine that they've gotten better.  So, let's head down there and show 'em our Swagger!

Be there at 9:30 to start warming up.  First game - Swagger X vs Swagger Y - will start as close to 10 as it can.  We'll take turns playing Dogfight after the first game is finished.

Bring a light and a dark and yer hollerin' voice - sideline heckling help is always appreciated!
