Name of the Story: The King Cobra and the Ants

 

Main Characters: King Cobra, ants

Best Part/synopsis : There lived King Cobra in the forest. He was very mighty. He ate small creatures like rabbits. He grew bigger and bigger as he ate food every day. He thought, he can have a big home of his own size and status.

 

One day, while roaming, he saw a huge tree. He liked the tree as much as his home. Near the tree, there was a huge ant hill. The Cobra did not want the ant hill to be there. The Cobra told the ants that, he was King cobra and his order was to remove the ant hill. The ants didn’t pay any attention to the Cobra’s orders. The Cobra became angry and finished the ant hill with his tail. Thousands of ants became angry and began to bit the Cobra’s body. The Cobra cannot bear the bite of the ants and started shaking his body to remove them. He was unsuccessful and his unbearable pain made him die a painful death.

 

Moral : Pride goes before a fall!

 
THE TALKING CAVE
 
 
Main Characters: A Lion, Clever Fox

Best Part/Synopsis: In a jungle, there lived a mighty lion. All the animals were afraid of him. Time passed and slowly and slowly, the Lion grew old and week. His strength did not remain the same and he could not catch his food. Once, while he was roaming in the jungle, he came across a Cave. He went inside and waited for the owner of the cave. The Fox who owned the Cave came and saw some footprints nearby. The Fox thought, "There is some animal in the cave." So, he called out, "O Cave, everyday you speak to me and today, why are you so silent? If you will remain silent, I will go away"
 
The Lion heard the Fox and roared. The clever fox ran away to save his life.
 
Moral: Be clever, use tact

THE BULL AND THE FROGS
 
Main Characters: a bull, frogs

Hard words : terribly

Best Part/Synopsis: One day, a bull came to drink water from a pond. When the frogs saw the bull, they ran to their Grandma and said, "There is a big animal near the pond." Grandma said, "How big was the animal?" The little one said, "Oh, it was very very big." The Grandma parted her four legs wide and puffed out her cheek and asked, "Was it as big as this?" The little one said, "No Grandma, he was much bigger." Grandma again puffed out her cheecks and sides. She said, Now surely, he was not bigger than this, was he?" The little one said, "Oh much much bigger than that too!"
 
The Grandma went on puffing and puffing. At last, her lungs burst and she fell down dead.
 
Moral: Vanity is foolish (The quality of being too proud of own appearance or abilities is called vanity)
