Since 1997, Herb and Shari Meyr have paid the domain and hosting fees and spent time and effort maintaining and updating the Sun Valley Ski Club website as a donated service to the club. The site is not owned, controlled or edited by the SVSC, but is updated with information provided by the club. While for many years the SVSC contributed little content directly, that has improved considerably. The entire SVSC Annual Magazine is now available online. Race results are posted as they are received from SVSC's Executive Director or President. We appreciated their cooperation in this website endeavor.

In April of '97, Shari Meyr registered the domain name of SunValleySki.com and created a Sun Valley-themed website titled Sun Valley Ski-Zine.  It contained a variety of photos, reviews, articles, business and organization links, and features on local personalities. The focus changed with the season – from skiing in the winter to fishing, rafting, kayaking, shotgun sports, golf, mountain biking and more in the warmer months. Included was a Sun Valley Ski Club sub-site, which Shari put together from her own photos, the winter pages of the Ski-Zine, plus info from the SVSC newsletters.  She updated the site regularly with what was then considered an “ultimate ski links” list. If you were looking for anything pertaining to alpine skiing, you could find it there.

Several years later, Shari noticed that whenever the SVSC mentioned the site, they still repeatedly referred people to “sunvalleyski.com” and not to the sub-directory at “/svsc.” Unable to resolve this, she eventually discontinued the Sun Valley Ski-Zine and used the primary domain address for the SVSC.
