Performance Task: 50 States in 50 Days
- Go to Google Maps, click on My Maps and then click Create New Map.
- Use "Draw Shape" to color in all 50 states.
- On each shape include 15 facts about each state.
- Include 10 pictures showing the facts you found for each state.
- Decide what place you would like to visit in all 50 states and Washington D.C.
- Save driving directions to each place. (You can fly to Alaska and Hawaii by drawing a line on the map.)
- Complete the budget worksheet to show how much it would cost to actually travel to every state in the nation.
- Insert your Google Map and Budget Worksheet to your Web Portfolio by 3/19.
Exceed Standard (Extra Credit) - Record an audio tour of your trip around the United States in Google Earth and post the video to YouTube.
- Find a Restaurant for dinner and a hotel (or campsite) for the night in every city you visit. Update your budget based with actual hotel (or campsite) costs.
- Find the lowest gas price in each state and update your budget based on actual gas costs.
- Get Travel Guides for all 50 states.
- Create a blog that lists the 50 places you visited with all the information you found about each place.
- Include as much information in each pin about the place you are visiting as possible.
