The Crew

John & Cheryl Mallon

Cheryl grew up in San Jose, CA with two brothers and a sister.   Raised in an outdoor-loving family, Cheryl remembers innumerable camping/boating vacations and weekends at California's mountains, beaches and deltas.  Shortly out of high school she joined the US Postal Service and will have completed 36 years of service when she retires as a postal supervisor on June 1, 2007. While working full time at the Postal Service she transferred to Florida and then Colorado, put herself through college, raised her son, David, climbed 34 of Colorado's 14,000 foot mountain peaks, and successfully invested in and managed rental properties. Cheryl's adventurous spirit is now aimed at traveling with John by sailboat to where ever the wind blows.

John grew up on a ranch outside of Walden, CO. After high school he joined the US Marine Corps and worked as an avionics technician on helicopters from 1971 to 1979. John has also worked for Sikorsky,  co-owned a beer business in Galveston, bicycled 5,000 miles across the USA (south to north and back), crossed the Atlantic four times by ship, and sailed 15,000 offshore miles, including one Panama Canal transit. Due to a personal hearing loss from working around aircraft, John developed an interest in hearing aids and currently works in the hearing aid industry. In 2004 he developed a web-based business dealing with hearing loss and continues to work in the field as a consultant.  John has two sons and one grandson.
