The student supported proposal for sustainability includes the following priorities:

Short Term

1. Improve recycling on campus (create satellite recycling centers and encourage the Athletic Association to help develop game day recycling)

2. Buy locally grown produce and cage-free eggs for dining halls.

3. Green Choice Initiative to promote smart, ecologically responsible purchases.  (use Green Clean for entire campus, buy recycled products, replace florescent bulbs with energy efficient light bulbs, etc.)

 4. Encourage the fulfillment of our commitment through the Talloires Declaration from the Association of University  Leaders for a Sustainable Future (http://www.ulsf.org/programs_talloires.html)

Long Term

5. Create an Office of Sustainability to direct and oversee all sustainability issues on campus

6. Increase education efforts directed at students (concentrating on incoming freshman and students in campus housing)

7. Promote renewable energy on campus

8. Reduce the water that is used on campus and create ways to better conserve this limited resource
