ANSI Executive Standards Council (ExSC) updates its interpretation of the PINS notification process. The PINS process now applies both to documents that have been announced as DSTUs and all future DSTUs. Standard Developers with a DSTU on record for which a PINS has not been submitted is required to submit a PINS prior to requesting a public review announcement, and all new DSTUs require a PINS prior to DSTU announcement.

Leonardo Academy notifies interested parties of opportunity to participate in Standards Committee meetings as observers

September 11, 2008

Agricultural Marketing Service, US Department of Agriculture files an appeal with ANSI requesting that 1) the ANSI ExSC withdraw Leonardo Academy’s accreditation as a developer of ANSI standards and 2) the Draft Standard for Trial Use titled, “Sustainable Agriculture Practice Standard for Food, Fiber and Biofuel Crop Producers and Agricultural Product Handlers and Processors,” be withdrawn from further consideration as a DSTU or as the basis of an American National Standard.

ANSI ExSC eliminates Annex B: Draft American National Standards for Trial Use as an option for announcing standards through ANSI. All documents previously announced as a Draft American National Standard for Trial Use (DSTU) for development as a candidate American National Standard now require a PINS.
