HKPASS – as evident in our name Hong Kong Public Affairs & Social Service Society – has two main goals: to raise awareness on public issues and to increase involvement in contributing back to the society.

HKPASS is one of the few student societies at the London School of Economics & Political Science that puts such a high emphasis on public affairs and social service and over the past decade, we have organised talks given by distinguished guests from all over the world, from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds. Through these, we hope to broaden our members’ opportunities to expand their social horizon to different walks of life.

Furthermore, we have also liaised and cooperated with a lot of charity organizations, both in Hong Kong and in the United Kingdom, to provide our members with a broad spectrum of social service experience.

Dear members,

It is my greatest honour to introduce to you all my new committee as well as to serve as the president of HKPASS for this forthcoming year.

My vision is to build upon last year’s success and to actively seek new opportunities for development. I can assure you that HKPASS will continue to provide ample opportunities for each and every one of you in understanding important public issues, involving yourselves in meaningful social services, as well as participating in relaxing social gatherings - HKPASS has much to offer in enriching your university life. With the support of our external partners, LSESU and above all, of you all as our treasured members, I have every confidence that HKPASS can reach new heights this year.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the freshers who are new to our LSE family. LSE is an outstanding university that has much to offer. However needless to mention, participation in HKPASS events would without a doubt amerliorate your university life and create valuable memories that are sure to last in the years to come!
