The HKPASS AGM and 2012-2013 Committee Election will take place on Friday 9th of March 2012. Attached please find the manifestoes for each candidates running for positions in the HKPASS Executive Committee 2012-2013. Please come to AGM this friday from 13.00 to 19.00 at TW1.U8.
Please see all HKPASS 2012-2013 positions: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. President (P) Leads and coordinates the society; Acts as the society’s figurehead and represents the society in all events; Checks and approves all correspondence between officers and external parties; Chairs all committee meetings as well as Annual General Meetings; Serves as the first point of contact for the Director General of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (HKETO); Serves as the first point of contact for the Chairperson of the LSE Alumni Association in Hong Kong; Corresponds regularly with Presidents of relevant external and internal student societies; Endeavours to attend all HKPASS events; Responsible for the continuous development and expansion of the society; Attends regular meetings and trainings held by LSESU.
2. Vice President (VP) Assists the President's work and to take up the role of President in his/her absence; Serves as the first point of contact for the Alumni Group of Hong Kong and to work closely with their Chairperson; Maintains frequent contact and to cooperate with all other LSESU societies; Coordinates all welcoming events for freshers; Attends regular meetings and trainings held by LSESU.
3. Internal Secretary (ISEC) Responsible for administrating all committee meetings, including the confirmation of attendance, room-booking and the taking of minutes Drafts and sends out weekly newsletters; Keeps official record of all society documentation; Responsible for the society’s inbox (su.soc.hkpass) as well as the SU mailbox; Compiles and updates a Freshers’ directory Compiles and updates a directory of members, external partners and other contacts; Masters all online administrative programs, including but not limited to Groupspaces; Google Docs etc. Serves as the first point of contact for the LSE Students’ Union; Serves as the Subcommittee Administrator (including the coordination of subcommittee events/correspondence); Attends regular meetings and trainings held by LSESU. Proficiency in English and Chinese word processing and writing compulsory.
4. Treasurer (T) Oversees the society’s finances; Accounts for all financial transactions and the reimbursement of expenses; Prepares an annual budget application for the LSE Students Union; Presents an annual budget in the Michaelmas Term AGM; Prepares all documentation for later funding applications; Prepares and presents an end-of-year financial report upon handover; Serves as the Sponsorship Manager in seeking donation and sponsorship; Attends regular meetings and trainings held by LSESU.
5. External Secretary (ESEC) Promotes and publicises all society events Supports the treasurer in seeking sponsorship; Maintains and promotes good relations with all internal and external organizations, such as other student societies and HKETO Unless stated otherwise, serves as the first point of contact for all relevant internal and external organizations Take up the role of Internal Secretary when he/she is absent Proficiency in English and Chinese writing compulsory
6. Social Service Officer (SSO) Chairs the Social Service Subcommittee; Organises regular Social Service events, both in Hong Kong and the UK; Serves as the first point of contact for all social service partners and NGOs; Coordinates with LSE Volunteering Centre; Corresponds, where relevant, with LSESU RAG; Organises a regular fundraising and volunteering events Liaises with other LSE SU Societies with regards to relevant social service activities
7. Publications Officer (PO) Prepares all necessary advertising materials, including but not limited to business cards, gazebo, banners, brochures, posters, greeting cards, powerpoint slides; Coordinates or serves as photographer for society events and subsequent handling of event photographs; Serves as Chief Editor of termly magazine Bling; Serves as HKPASS Web Administrator, to maintain the society website as well as all Facebook-related pages; Skills in Photoshop and/or other relevant software preferred.
8. Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Chairs the Public Affairs Subcommittee; Organises regular Public Affairs events, including but not limited to public lectures, interviews, LSE HKPASS Forum; Serves as the first point of contact for the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (HKETO);
9. Social Events Officer (SEO) Organises regular social events; Responsible for all event refreshments, coordinating with other parties such as LSE Catering; Organises the annual Local and Cultural Trips: including booking of transport, accommodation, planning of itinerary and post-trip reporting.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
