As a deaf Buddhist and a male, I have experience forms of discrimination as a child and as an adult that would and should not be tolerated in todays community here in the year 2010 or 2560 odd years since the Buddha times. But behold its still exist in more that one fashion today. I was happy and relieved the night I heard the ordination of the bukkhuni and the time was far to long for such a cherish equalisation event we have in this lucky country. So as a Deaf person who has suffered more ways than a child should, let me enjoy the companionship of equality that would only enrich that of our better half and create WHAT WAS YEARS AGO, before the demise of the orders of Buddhist nuns. As above I know what its like to fight against ingorance, so to the brave sisters my congrates is exaltedly silently clapping for your ordinations and your teaching of the of the Buddha's gift to the community, society and the world. I know my fellow deaf in other buddhist countries are struggling for recognition and humanity. So i at least I'm lucky to live in Western Australia and a proud Sandgroper.
