In 2009 we took a survey and the overwhelming response was that our parents would rather pay a fee than spend time selling products for fundraising. So starting with the 2009-2010 school year we implemented a PSG Activity Fee and a PSG Materials Fee. We know budgets are tight and we’re doing what we can to keep expenses down without impacting our children’s educational experience. There are several easy, no-selling ways that the PSG can raise funds. These include: Recycling Toner and Ink cartridges: Simply collect empty cartridges and turn in at carpool. It’s amazing how quickly these can add up, especially when you ask your friends or your employer to help save them for you. And recycling is a great thing for our planet! Box Tops for Education: Look at the items in your pantry for the little “Box Tops for Education” label. For each one we collect the PSG receives $0.10. These labels are products you probably use every day including Cheerios, Pillsbury Biscuits and Betty Crocker Products. Coupons are often available for Box Tops products. For every $50,000 dollars our families spend on groceries the Sunrise PSG will earn $500. Just print out the Frys Barcode and bring it to Frys the next time you go shopping. You MUST renew the link to the school every year – so if you did it last year you need to do it again this year! E-mail this link to your friends and family and ask them to link their card as well. One of our Sunrise moms has even asked strangers in line if they would mind linking their card to our school. So far every one she’s asked has said Yes! Note: If it becomes necessary to do a fundraiser we promise to keep it light and fun – ei: Raffle tickets, a night at Applebee’s, etc. |
