What is Sunrise PSG?

The Sunrise Parent Support Group or PSG is comprised of the parents of Sunrise Montessori School.  Every parent has something special to offer and the PSG is an opportunity to share that with the Sunrise Montessori Community.  

What is the mission of Sunrise PSG?

The Sunrise PSG’s mission is to support Sunrise Montessori School by growing and maintaining a caring community for students, school, and family.  We are focused on creating opportunities that encourage diversity and family involvement which enhance the Sunrise Montessori learning experience.

New parents (and even our returning parents) might get a little confused about what the PSG does and what the school does.  Here’s a list of the activities the PSG is in charge of:

    Events:

• Pizza at Open House 
• School Picnic
• Holiday Shopping Boutique
• Unity Day (every other year)
• Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

    Classroom Guests:

• The Drum Man from Africa
• The Puppet Theater
• The Petting Zoo
• The visit from the World Wildlife Zoo

    Materials:

     The PSG provides each Sunrise Classroom Head Teacher with funds to bring new materials into the classroom. Occasionally the PSG contributes funds for a large purchase. In 2008 we helped raise the funds for the sun shade over the north campus playground.

    Others:

• Coordinate the Orange PSG T-shirts (for PE day & field trips)
• Design and create the Yearbook
