Commitment, Philosophy & Goals
My passion is the enrichment and education of children. I enjoy talking and playing with each child, and meeting his or her unique needs. At Sun, Moon & Stars, we understand that every child is different and each child and situation is to be evaluated on an individual basis to prevent a lack of growth on the part of the child. Our commitment to you and your children is to provide love, support, safety, and education to each child within our care. We also commit to providing a nurturing atmosphere to promote each child’s creativity and positive self-image.
I believe in taking a professional approach in what I can offer the children. I will provide a licensed childcare home in compliance with the Colorado Child Care Regulations. I work to keep abreast of current information on childcare and early childhood education. I am active in continuing my education through training, courses, conferences, and research through various state and national child care organizations.
Experience
As part of the licensing process, I am required to take at least 15 hours per year in child care related training. I have four children of my own at various stages that assist in my knowledge of the day-to-day experiences needed to care for children. I have also utilized many child care centers in the past with my own children, and have a good grasp of what does and does not work in a child care facility, from a parent’s point of view. I am also a member of a local child care organization, A Caregiver Network.
In the area of child care, for 2 years I ran the nursery at a local Baptist church every Sunday and for special events. I also been a Girl Scout leader and volunteer for over three years for Girl Scouts of Colorado. I have been operating SMS child care for 2 years. |
