The County Zoning Maps are maintained by the Sumner County Construction & Development Department and are available for viewing anytime during regular business hours.  The PDF file available is a small scale map depicting the entire county.  It is not the most suitable map for identifying parcel-specific zoning.  A parcel's zoning can be obtained by accessing the Sumner County GIS or by contacting the Construction & Development Department.  To obtain zoning inside any municipal limits, please contact the appropriate municipality.

Several cities wthin Sumner County exercise extraterritorial planning outside of their city limits.  These are typically areas that are anticipated to be annexed in the future and makes sense to have policies and design guidelines that match a particular municipality.  This map depicts city limit and planning region boundaries as of the date listed.  This is a small scale map depicting the entire county and is not most suitable for identifying parcel-specific information.  Please contact the appropriate municipality or the Sumner County Construction & Development Department to determine if a parcel is in a municipal planning region or in the county.

Urban Growth Boundaries - 1.1 MB Adopted 1999

In 1999, municipalities within Sumner County also identified areas where growth and development were most likely to occur within the next 20 years.  These areas were adopted as part of an Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) Map.  Cities cannot annex areas outside of their UGBs.
