On April 20, 2009 the Sumner County Commission adopted Resolution 0904-04 which amended Article X, Section 3.1 & 3.2 of the Flood Damage Prevention Provisions of the Sumner County Zoning Resolution. Sumner County is required to maintain these provisions to remain eligible under the National Flood Insurance Program. The county was notified that revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) dated May 18, 2009 would need to be adopted as part of these provisions. Any new surveying and platting will need to reference the revised maps for ares in unincorporated county covered by those particular panel numbers. All other panel numbers will still refer to those FIRMs dated September 20, 2006. As of April 22, 2009, the Sumner County Zoning Resolution will need to be modified to reflect these changes, and the Sumner County GIS will need to be updated with the correct mapping information. Flood panel numbers impacted by this change are mostly located in southern Sumner County along Old Hickory Lake and the Cumberland River. Copies of the FIRMs are available within the Planning & Zoning Department for review. Please contact the Planning & Zoning Department with any questions regarding these changes. |
