Here is the list of birds which have been spotted in IITH campus and nearby areas. The list is not exhaustive and is updated regularly.

The adjacent picture of Yellow-wattled lapwing is by Sunit K. Gupta (flickr). This bird is not as commonly seen as its more popular cousin Red-wattled lapwing. In IITH campus it has been seen near the football and hockey grounds.

The adjacent gif of South Asian (Indian?) Chamaeleon (Chamaeleo zeylanicus) is from the main boulevard in IITH. Thanks to him for spotting it from a distance. Is it the only species of chamaeleons found in India ?
